Rescue and rescue groups on the ground in Wayanad after multiple landslides in the mountainous district of northern Kerala have earned praise online for risking their lives to save others. Multi-resource footage showed rescue workers crossing a frame of water in a harness to reach the other side. More than 90 people died and more than a hundred were injured in the natural crisis.

Rescue groups made up of the Army, Navy and NDRF are jointly searching for survivors in severe weather situations and the agencies are working together to provide critical assistance to those affected.

Saluting the brave foot soldiers of the Madras Terriers who bring hope on their backs. @CMOKerala appreciates the armed forces’ ambitious efforts in rescue operations in Wayanad,” Defense PRO’s official X-handler for Kerala posted, sharing photographs of the Madras Terriers rescue workers corps on duty.

Kerala Chief Minister Vijayan said the first landslide occurred at around 2 a. m. and the next one occurred around 4:30 a. m. , leaving many people trapped under the rubble and many more swept away.
