NEWS. . . BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
Fans attending Doja Cat’s big concert at the Wireless festival in London this week are furious when it was announced the event would end early due to the Euro final.
On Wednesday, England beat the Netherlands in the UEFA European Football Championship semi-finals, reached the final match and will face Spain on Sunday in the tournament final.
This has sparked massive excitement among football enthusiasts across the UK, with many organizations changing their opening hours to allow viewing of the match.
John Bishop even announced that he would be changing his Sunday exhibition time for football, which sparked mixed emotions among fans.
The Wireless Festival has now garnered backlash from music enthusiasts as they announced that they would be ending the event early due to football.
In an announcement on its site, the festival said: “Rockstar Energy presents Wireless will now end at 7pm on Sunday 14 July to give you time to get home and watch the England v Spain EURO final.
“The festival will take place as planned on Sunday, and Doja Cat will perform a full song. “
The festival ended around 9:30 p. m. , but due to time constraints, Tyla and Digga D were removed from the list of performances.
Sunday’s headliner is Doja Cat and other artists on the setlist are Don Toliver, Rema and Uncle Waffles. Doja’s flagship concert will now begin at 5:45 p. m. and finish at 7 p. m.
Fans took to social media to complain about the updated plans. Many said that football did not matter to them at all and were baffled by this selection through the organizers.
Thejman8gd commented: “What does soccer have to do with a music festival? They’re two other cultures! Believe it or not, but there are other people interested in a soccer ball being hit religiously. “
‘Are you serious? We paid a lot for a 7 p. m. time slot. Curfew and 2 artists cancelled? I can’t,” Negnsrv said.
“I don’t care about football, I care about Tyla ???,” Ellenakkolos said.
“The audacity! We are traveling from Holland, so you can watch the game? Oh really? —said Avalonnolava.
Many other enthusiasts did not understand why the organizers did not simply show the game on the big screen at the event, which would have been a wonderful way to accompany football enthusiasts to the festival.
“Why just play it on the big screens? It would have been viiiibe. I’m ruining it,” Mme_charlery said.
“It’s CRAZY! A festival that ends at 7pm?! The big screen would have been so good I can’t perceive it ?,” said Katiedoestattoos.
“Football on the festival screen would have been crazy,” commented deemcgee1.
Another London festival, Kew the Music, announced it would bring forward Sunday’s lineup.
This won over more warmly with fans, with some saying it was a “good decision”.
On Revew the Music earlier this week, Ronan Keating sang “It’s Coming Home” on level while announcing the final score.
Additionally, the Killers played soccer midway through the performance, which received loud applause from the fans as they watched the final moments of the semi-final.
