The Dutch Swing College Band’s performance on January 16 at 8 p.m. marks the return of jazz concerts at the Audi Forum Ingolstadt after the Christmas break. The six-member ensemble has been delighting audiences worldwide with traditional jazz for decades.
From Australia to Thailand and the United States, the Dutch Swing College Band has a long history of successful performances around the world to look back on. Founded underground in 1945 in the Netherlands, the ensemble has won numerous awards over the decades. This success is due to their incredible energy and passion, combined with the utmost musical precision and clever arrangements. The group is constantly evolving, and each musician in the current ensemble, under the direction of double bassist Adrie Braat, enjoys the reputation of being a top-class soloist.
The call of the Holch Swing College organization has its origin in the early years of the organization. Since Jazz Music was prohibited at that time, founding members sought jazz music in the Netherlands. They secretly practiced illegal radio systems and sought to identify a school for jazz music: Swing College. Its members have given lectures, organized jazz meetings and taught jazz music. In 1960, the organization dared to move on to the next level by taking their music to people, and have happened professionally since then.
With his concert at the Audi Ingolstadt forum, Berlandis Swing College Band will celebrate a double anniversary, 80 years from the group’s base and its tenth exhibition at the Audi forum. At the same time, the total will launch the Annual Jazz series of the Audi Forum for the third consecutive time.
Jazz plays a special role in AUDI AG’s cultural endeavors. Since 2001, the jazz performance series at the Audi Forum Ingolstadt has attracted tens of thousands of music lovers to the Audi headquarters with its exclusive concerts. The company successfully cooperates with the Birdland Jazz Club Neuburg for the event. In recent years, other renowned jazz greats such as the Count Basie Orchestra, Freddie Hubbard, Paul Kuhn, and the Pasadena Roof Orchestra have performed at the Audi Forum Ingolstadt.
