For the manufacturer of Memphis, Drumma Boy, he is just an “intellectual gangsta” that dreams have come true. Supported through a musically intelligent circle of relatives: her mother was an opera singer and her father was a music instructor, Druma’s love for music evolved at an early age.   After having forged relations with the MC of the hometown, in I Gotti specific, Gangsta Boo and cloths their remain at the University of Memphis, the Drumma’s Drumma’s Drumma and Gab’s gift allowed him to get his skills from the city.   During his first year of university, he worked at rap legends Scarface and Bun B.

With a Vitae curriculum that has Gucci Mane credits (“Photo Shoot”), Jeezy (“Put” and “Lose My Mind”), Waka Flowa Flame (“No Hands”), August Alsina (“No Love”) and Migos respective projects.

Billboard recently caught Drumma Boy to communicate about his existing projects, which Mount Rushmore for the Raperos de Atlanta, why he is one of the initiators of trap music and why he repairs the past to the past and Grand Tupac.

You were in the study with Empire Yazz. What impresses you to the fullest in your skills?

I would say your vision. He definitely had a vision of a young boy and they were definitely given at the right time at the right time to succeed. Perceives it. Few other people perceive it on the artist’s side. They will have this large amount of talent, but there is no well -balanced development. He knows music. It turns out that he is a musician, but a first musician who tries to precisely discover what he wants. That is why other people come to see me to help polish this. Its rap and freestyle capacity, I would say, are the most productive things you can do. All incredible melodies and all those incredible rates and concepts can go to the stand and free style. I am going to take those portions such as: “Oooh. This component you made at 2:56 p. m. is the hook. I, this component at 1:30 a. m. , let’s do it the bridge. ”  Then we will take those rates and start filling the words.

Which of the artists with whom you worked with you maximum in terms of growth?

I will have to say that Gucci Mane is one of them. I need to call other people because I worked with many other people and it is a laughter. When I met Gucci man for the first time at the pool table Big Cat Records, it was as if we were friends. It was like, boy, we have been friends and our conversations were great, even before music. The first album we never did was “Photoshoot”. Looking right where he is now and in what we were then and how he polished his raps, even though everything gets what he deserves.   I am satisfied to see it in this state of success. I am satisfied that, although I see everything, just because Gucci was this star artist. Uigreen, a little polishing is needed to join. He still delivered successes throughout the procedure as “Ferrari Boyz”, “I think I love him” and returned with “all my children” recently.

Number two, I would throw Rick Ross in the photo because the undeniable fact of seeing him from “Hustlin” and reaching the symbol and generating “here I am” with Avery Storm, is like a big difference in life and the way we live. It is glorious for paintings with those two types. I can continue back and forth, but I would say those are my first two.

Recently you connected with Too $ Hort and produced “Ain’t My Girlfriend”. What surprises you the maximum of his paint ethics, with him as a veteran so hip-hop?

What surprised me the maximum too short, because we are all enthusiasts of his music, it is his character and how humble he was and the respectful thing he was towards me. He was so fanatic of me that he was towards him. The same goes for Snoop [Dogg] and many OG on the west coast, such as Kurupt, but, in particular, too short.   I just hit him recently as: “I had a occasion and we are about to explode the album. We had a great party in Los Angeles and he told me:” whatever you love me. “It is so reactive and fast, unlike some boys. They can take it back next week next month, or even trust. I think that is why they remain in the game so long because they remain their good water relationships.

Reduce in 2009 when he worked with Jeezy on the “Put On” album. What were his initial reflections when he first discovered that Kanye West looked on the track and then notes that Jay-Z in Remix?

I didn’t even know that Hov was going on to be in the Remix. When I did the rhythm, I did the speed at the house. I am at home now. I received a Speed study at Midtown Atlanta. I rhythm and disappointed being fair to you due to some things that had happened. There were some investments that I sought that they did not happen. Then I told myself: “I’m just going to move on to Loopy with the artists who are with me. Like Jeezy giving me this opportunity. Let me concentrate on Jeezy. “

So I don’t forget to do this rhythm for Jeezy and as soon as I finished it, I bounced it, put it in Pro Tools and divided it. Jeezy and I hit each other, a little as I and I Gotti did. We call them “Drug Affairs in the McDonalds. ” [Laughs] would prevent with a complete beats for him and avoid with money. We would have a quick exchange and continue moving it. It’s the same as I’m doing with Jezy. I hit him as: “Where do you do it? I had them for you. ” I would call CD in ñam. We foresee and meet at McDonald’s and had seven clues in the CD. “Put over” I was in this CD and I forget, but I mean “incredible” was there.

The next thing you know, Jezy surprised me: “I. I wonder about you. ”  The next thing you know is that I wake up and take the car corridor and listen to Mz Shyneka to get on the radio and she says “This new Jeeezy!” And I listen to Kanye’s voice. I told myself: “What’s happening?” “Shoutout to Drumma Boy. He went crazy about that,” he said. It’s just a movie, brother.

The remix would possibly be released four months later, but it was in Miami in a club called Story. I had seven bad with me. I am the only boy. They played the remix of this song. Brother, each and every one sent me bottles, reaching my segment and partying with us. It was an incredible moment to see other people to gravitate an album that you produced and that you do not forget every moment. He brought me back to [when I was] 15 years old, the first time I saw a crowd move to my music. He was monumental, but at the same time, a blessing.

What is your maximum memorable study consultation of 2017 so far?

To be fair to you, bring my son back.   Lately we are running on the back of Young Buck in my sh-t Buck Vol. 3. allowed me to produce for him and give him great hooks and wonderful records. Actually, that the music we have made will take care of the global.   He had special sessions in progress, but Rico Recklezz Free. Guy, I’m communicating, I have an album that will replace his life. We hope to paint everything that is happening. Guy is an intelligent child and listens to me. If someone can communicate with him and communicate with him, it’s me. It allowed me to be an executive manufacturer and raise sounds to its movement. We have great records.   I am extremely cheerful that the global listen to what we have in reserve with him.

If you can give us your Mont Rushmore for Atlanta artists, what 4 would you be and why?

My Mont Rushmore in Atlanta? I will have to say that number one is outkast! The sound they delivered, the land they inaugurated, the difficulties that we have triumph from a point of view of the south when New York and Hip Hop were in its peak was one of the first reputation teams in the south.

Number two, I will say the young Jeeezy. You have to. It is essential. The motion that this guy had in a mixtape with a trap or a dice [was incredible]. High in DJ Drama. I shout my brother. He also shouts in Don Cannon for some great successes. DJ TOOMP. Shawty Redd I and I are the original trap. I will say it on the album. There are many new manufacturers to come that I like. I love you all. Mike Will My Homie, Sonny Digital My Homie, Zaytoven My Homie, 40 the friend, [but] listened, we did this SH. I know I have been doing this SH-T for some time. It is just a blessing to see how the trap has evolved. It’s like a basketball game, we continue and continue with Toarray, so those are my two artists.

Number three, T. I. I will have to launch T. I. Due to the way in which he diversified the trap and brought it to one level absolutely another.

It is difficult. We are talking about hip hop. I will have to say Ludacris. Luda was a comic, beaten through the battle, and they all told him that he could not do songs and that he was sure after certain blows. Then he took him to the movie and got up. This is the friend. It is the family. You will have to respect with a view to the types that have had the most productive races and not just the most productive successes. We are talking about the empires of Atlanta.

A few months ago, T. I. He took the credits such as trap music. Do you agree with him?

I mean, he took a trap universally. As, he will have to understand: when things take place on stage, it comes from somewhere, just like Crunk. Lil Jon created Crunk?

I made her popular.

GOOD. So where did Crunk come from? Crunk is a word of Memphis. People say “Get Crunk. ” Get buck. ”If you pay attention to a song and pay attention to where this word comes, it comes from Memphis. You had to do your studies at Nick Scarfo. You had to do your studies on the original Mafia 3 6 and all the bands they have abandoned. Buck and Crunk are like synonyms and all come from Memphis. Lil Jon says that in several things and that is the friend.

The word trap is not a sound at the beginning, it is a location. “Where, my brother? We catch. What are you doing? We catch. We are bouncing. We get money. ” Then, at 13, it was when N-S told me to stop. Then it is 20 years ago. I am 33 years old. IT 97. We are talking about trap. So I don’t see projects with Tip talking about trap at that time. With respect to sound, manufacturers have created sound. He made the popular trap before catching on the side. “What is a side? Well, an open home. ”  That is what traparray has a tipock notification of the trap, but when it comes to manufacturers? If you pay attention to the base of I Gotti, if you return to the life of the album, it is the first album I Gotti I have never been. His first album never in history.

Even with Boyz in Da Hood, I, Jody Breeze and Jeezy made a song entitled “Trap N-S”. This sound all trap. All just a sound, then other people began to rappel. Jeezy and Jody Breeze were one of the first people who began to rap on this issue. I Gotti one of the first other people to start the rapper, but with respect to sound, the sound created through the producers, which Shawty Redd, DJ Toomma and Drumma.

If you can simply in the study with a dead hip-hop artist for 24 hours, who would you decide and why?

SH -, the n -A has just released a movie, so, of course, I’m going to say tupac. “PAC was a nub of gangsta of high brightness and myself similar. These are the decisions you make and that you decide to handle in your life. In fact, it would be a user that I would like to update, spit, rap and joke a friend to my friend as:” What was it like to break such? “[Laughs]

“Pac broke everyone you looked for to break. He is the friend where you just surrounded yourself, at least to me. It is at a friend’s point. At the musical point, we can attack and execute any subject we need. I felt that I opened, he heard and he knew what he was looking for. I like paintings with artists who know precisely what they need and I have a vision of their sound.
